Built from premium materials and finished with attention to detail, your OVERHEAD SOLO hangers are designed to last.Each hanger is crafted from FSC® certified BB/BB Birch Plywood, selected for its strength, consistency and resistance to humidity.Every piece goes is coating with low-VOC water-based varnish to achieve a refined finish while enhancing its durability and moisture resistance.Paired with nylon rope, your hangers are ready for freshly rinsed boards and damp environments and may be installed outdoors in covered areas.Featuring an in-house designed clamp for quick setup and a secure hold.

Yes, every OVERHEAD SOLO comes with everything needed to mount it, aside from basic tools like a screwdriver, tape measure or a drill (if your wall or ceiling type requires one). The supplied premium screws and Fischer DuoPower plugs provide reliable anchorage across a wide range of materials, including solid walls (expansion) and hollow walls (folding or knotting).

Yes, almost any board works, from a fish to a groveller or a longboard, as wide as 650mm. The length limit will come down to how far apart you mount the two hangers.

As for the maximum weight, each hanger is rated to 16kg — so with a board's weight split between the two, you're well within margin even for a hefty longboard.

Yes. Depending on the eye-plate placement and the rope loop length, adjustable via clamps, the board sits roughly 200–350mm below the ceiling. The installation guide walks you through it step by step.

The OVERHEAD SOLO is designed for one board only. Two boards could be stacked on top of each other, as long as you stay within the 16kg max load per hanger.

Yes, as long as it's covered and sheltered from harsh weather — rain and direct sunlight in particular.

SOUTHWOOD WORKSHOP is a one-man workshop based in North Devon, UK, where woodworking, 3D printing, and a range of hands-on techniques come together to create useful, well-made objects, crafted with care.

Each project begins as something I need myself. It is designed, tested and refined, before being turned into a product others might enjoy.

Everything is produced in small batches, by hand, from start to finish, using trusted materials, quality hardware, and carefully integrated 3D printed components where they add function.
